Program Assistant: Rain Water Harvesting 2008

Shannyn currently holds a part-time contract position with GIRC to promote rain water harvesting through the 2008 season. Shannyn is a recent graduate of International Development Studies at UoG, and comes to this job with a great deal of knowledge and passion about global, national and local water issues. Shannyn is a water activist with a broad network of contacts, great multimedia communication skills, great ideas, and a strong commitment to setting things right in her home community of Wellington County.

Video Producer, Praxis Productions

Marion is a multimedia artist adept in community video training. Her work has been broadcast by CBC radio, CTV-CKCO, Rogers, and COGECO. While not currently employed by GIRC, she has a lead role in every stage of GIRC's video production, and is the volunteer children and youth programmer for GIRC's Guelph International Film Festival.

Director, Praxis Productions

Bill has worked and volunteer at GIRC in many capacities for over fifteen years. While not currently employed by GIRC, he remains active on numerous committees, boards and organizations working at a local, provincial and national level. Bill is director of Praxis Productions, the video production division of GIRC. Bill has worked as producer or crew on several video projects in association with GIRC, and through Praxis Productions is involved in a couple of projects now. Project Coordinator: Outdoor Water Efficiency 2008

Alma currently holds a part-time contract position with GIRC to coordinate a project to promote outdoor water efficiency in Guelph. Alma has extensive experience in community development and project management, having developed, facilitated and managed a number of successful projects in rural Guyana with funding from CIDA, UN agencies and other international donors. Alma is an active community citizen, and brings to this project a deep understanding of the value of water -- now and for seven generations to come -- informed by her aboriginal values and a life-time of self-sufficient living in rural Guayana.
